Washington DC Temple

On August 6th I went to the Washington DC temple visitor's center. The visitor's center had a big screening room that showed videos about Mormons, and the best part was it was all controlled with an ipad. They had a fake house with a computer inside and I watched more Mormon videos.

The temple was beautiful on the outside. I don't know what it looked like on the inside. The temple grounds were beautiful too because it had so many pretty flowers.

The National Zoo

On August fifth, we went to the zoo.

When we got there, we first went on The Asia Trail. We didn't see a lot, but the giant panda and the elephant.

Then we went to the bird house. My favorite bird was the parrot.

Then we went to the American trail and walked a ways, and there was nothing to see.

Then we went to Great Cats and saw a lion, a cheetah, and a female lion.

Then we went to a building called Amazonia. The Amazonia had a lot of fish, sting rays, frogs, and bugs.

Then we saw the seals, and they were funny because there was one seal that kept stealing fish by pecking at a bird, making him cough up fish, and eating it.

We found a splash pad and got soaked.

The American History Museum

On Friday August second, we went to the American History Museum and saw a lot of artifacts. My favorite exhibit was The Star Spangled Banner with a huge flag, bigger than Della's house.

We saw a show about the protest at Woolworth's lunch counter. The actress told a story and jokes. It was super funny.

The museum also had awesome bathrooms. That's right, bathrooms. I know that's weird, but that's all I can think of.

The Natural History Museum

On August second, I went to the Natural History Museum where we saw lots of exhibits. There was a long Giant Squid. They had lots of animals like whales, lions, dinosaurs, fish, and monkeys that were kind of cool.

I also saw what I looked like as a Neanderthal.

I finally found a street vendor and bought some shirts. We found some Minecraft shirts, and something for Aunt Min.

National Air and Space

Also on the 26th of July, we went to the National Air and Space Museum. There were lots of exhibits. The one that I liked the most was the War in the Air one. It was awesome. It had lots of flight suits. I liked War in the Air because it had a game where you were supposed to land an airplane. It showed you the planes. The exhibit also showed you a landing watch tower. It had lots of games.

We did not go to all of the exhibits because it was getting late. Oliver wanted food, but by the time we left, he was asleep.

Archives

On the 26th of July, we went to the National Archives, and it was a short trip. We were in line inside with our stroller and a security lady came and let us skip to the front. First we saw the Bill of Rights. Then we saw the Declaration of Independence. Last, the United States Constitution.

I was going to buy Uncle Than a cool tie, but it cost $48.00 plus tax. I was going to buy Aunt Min a shirt with a girl saying, "We can do it," but that didn't work either. I'll keep looking.

20 Things I've Been Doing While I haven't Been Doing Anything

1. Watched Dr. Who. Lots of it.
2. Played video games with Jesse: Minecraft, Castle Crashers, and 'Splosian Man.
3. Went to Boy Scouts. BOY SCOUTS.
4. Met Micheal and Brian.
5. Went to Micheal and Brian's houses.
6. Took out the garbage...a lot.
7. Cleaned the bathroom.
8. Made my bed.
9. Helped with dinner...my favorite new recipe: Taco Cornbread Casserole
10. Went to Church.
11. Drew a Dr. Who picture or two.
12. Played Catch-Me-If-You-Can with Oliver.
13. Oliver's Birthday Party.
14. Babysat Oliver at home by myself.
15. Drank a lot of yogurt drinks.
16. Slept without a nightlight. The door has stayed open, though.
17. Heard a lot of new music that I like...my favorite new bands: Florence and the Machine, Hot Hot Heat, Muse
18. Tried new fruits...coconut, Lychee, Dragonfruit, and some others I don't remember
19. Ran in the rain...every time it rained.
20. Missed you all at home a little bit everyday.
